Art Van Furniture to open store in Muncie, Indiana


American furniture retailer Art Van Furniture is set to open its fourth store in Muncie, Indiana, next month.

The store was formerly owned and operated by Dillman's Furniture and Mattress.

Dillman's Furniture and Mattress Muncie store owner John Dillman said: "This opportunity gives us the ability to expand our product offerings, elevate our customer service and delivery experience, ultimately enabling us to grow our customer base."

The Dillman family has been operating in East Central Indiana since 1976 with stores in Kokomo, Peru, Anderson and Marion. John Dillman will continue operating the store.

The 41,857ft² store at Muncie opened in 2001.

Art Van Furniture CEO Kim Yost said: "Together with John and Colette Dillman, we will continue to deliver on the family's promise of making comfort affordable.

“We look forward to establishing new Art Van Furniture traditions while keeping the personal family touch customers have become accustomed too."

Following the acquisition of the store, all employees have been retained while additional hiring is expected in the coming months.

The new store will house various Art Van Furniture product lines, including Art Van PureSleep and Art Van Clearance Center.

According to the company, renovation is underway at the store.

Operating in the furniture business since 59 years, Art Van Furniture has more than 100 stores throughout Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois and Iowa, including freestanding Art Van PureSleep mattress stores, Art Van Flooring stores, and Art Van Furniture franchise locations, as well as an e-commerce website.
