M&As this week: Art.sy, Yiwu Huading Nylon, PetSmart


Online art collection and education platform Art.sy (Artsy) has announced the acquisition of data science company ArtAdvisor.

Both companies involved in the acquisition are based in the US.

Yiwu Huading Nylon has announced plans to acquire Shenzhen TOMTOP Technology for CNY2.9bn ($420.99m).

"The acquisition will enable PetSmart to expand its business and enhance its in-store and online services."

Yiwu has also announced plans to raise CNY1.3bn ($188.72m) through private placement of shares.

Based in China, Yiwu is a company specialising in research, development and manufacturing of nylon filament, while Shenzhen is an online wholesale and retail shop operator for the purchase of Chinese products.

Specialty pet supplies company PetSmart has announced plans to acquire online retailer Chewy.

The acquisition will enable PetSmart to expand its business and enhance its in-store and online services.

Both companies involved in the acquisition are based in the US.
