M&As this week: Aurum, AppCard


UK-based watch and jewellery retailer Aurum has agreed to acquire Mayor’s Jewelers, a subsidiary of Birks Group.

The purchase consideration for the acquisition is agreed to be $104.6m.

A distribution agreement has also been signed between the acquirer and Birks Group, as part of which the former will sell the latter’s fine jewellery in the UK through offline, as well as online stores.

Personalised marketing and shopper analytics platform AppCard has acquired ProLogic Retail Services in order to strengthen its position as a loyalty and digital offers provider for the grocery market.

The target company provides marketing solutions for independent grocers.

AppCard will be able to process approximately 500 million transactions a year and increase its base to more than 17 million households through the acquisition.
