Spencer Gifts selects Mi9 Retail's merchandising platform

North American mall retailer Spencer Gifts has adopted Mi9 Retail's merchandising platform, Mi9 Merchant, to modernise its enterprise retail system.

Operating as Spencer's, the retailer has more than 600 stores in the US and Canada, along with its Halloween specialty retail business Spirit Halloween.

Spencer Gifts will replace its existing legacy merchandising system with modern and scalable Mi9 Merchant platform.

The Mi9 Merchant solution was chosen for its breadth and depth functionality, as well as advanced allocations characteristics.

"Spencer Gifts is assured of an upgrade path and the ability to benefit from our ongoing investments and enhancements to our product."

Spencer Gifts CIO Carey Lowrey said: "After an exhaustive search of the enterprise retail systems market, we selected Mi9 Retail to be our core provider for merchandising."

Mi9 Merchant is designed to manage significant transaction volumes and diverse inventory for large, complex retailers.

Mi9 Retail CEO Neil Moses said: "Mi9 Merchant is unique because it will support the intricate business requirements of Spencer Gifts and Spirit Halloween on the same core system that is deployed by all of our other Mi9 Merchant customers.

"Given that we maintain a single code base, Spencer Gifts is assured of an upgrade path and the ability to benefit from our ongoing investments and enhancements to our product."
