Even though site work is awaiting certain permits, the company has reported that the work will begin shortly, with the store scheduled to open next June.

Pepper Construction has been chosen as construction manager for the IKEA Oak Creek site work and store development project.

Operating as a full-service construction management, design/build and general contracting firm, Pepper Construction has been associated with IKEA, constructing several stores over the years, including those that are underway in Columbus, Ohio, and Fishers, Indiana.

“This Milwaukee-area store will provide a more convenient IKEA shopping experience for current and potential customers throughout Wisconsin, complementing our growing Midwestern US presence.”

Other firms contracted for the site work include real estate brokerage CBRE for site selection support; Reinhart Boerner Van Deuren for local land use counsel; GRAEF for civil engineering; WD Partners for architecture, structural, mechanical, electrical and plumbing design; Stantec for environmental services; and GreenbergFarrow for development services.
