On-demand delivery platform Cornershop is entering the US market with debut in Miami and Dallas cities.

The online and app-based platform for on-demand and scheduled delivery was established in Chile in 2015.

Cornershop allows consumers to shop from local supermarkets, independent grocers and specialty stores.

With this launch, the service is active in Mexico, Peru, Colombia and Brazil, as well as Canada.

Cornershop is offering its new users a discount of $20 on their first order worth $50 or more up to 31 May.

Additionally, customers can subscribe to a membership option, Cornershop POP, to avail free delivery on orders of more than $30.

Cornershop Florida regional general manager David Krevat said: “Consumers across the nation are looking for reliable and convenient shopping options now more than ever.

“Our goal is to connect them with the stores they love most, from the largest grocery providers to their favourite local specialty stores, as safely as possible.

“We can’t achieve that goal without our Shoppers; this outstanding network of individuals is committed to delivering top quality and service.

“We are thrilled to be part of these two vibrant cities and look forward to adding more in the months to come.”

In October last year, ridesharing service provider Uber Technologies agreed to buy a majority stake in Cornershop. It is also backed by Accel.
