Vertically integrated multistate cannabis operators Cresco Labs has decided to increase its workforce amid the coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic.

The company will recruit individuals for full-time retail positions at its Sunnyside dispensaries throughout Illinois. This hiring drive will position the company to provide patients and customers in its communities with cannabis products.

Specifically, the company is focused on employing individuals from local industries who have been affected by the outbreak, including workers from the hospitality and restaurant service sector.

The company is currently offering its existing workforce with benefits such as an essential pay programme and additional support. It is intended for those working in cultivation centres, distribution facilities and dispensaries.

Global coronavirus cases are now close to two million at 1,920,918, while the death toll stands at 119,686.

The US has the highest numbers of confirmed cases with a total of 587,155 cases, with the death toll in the country reaching 23,644.
