German grocery chain Aldi is set to launch a same-day delivery service in three US cities by the end of the month.

The move is in line with the company’s strategy to increase its footprint in the country.

The retailer has partnered with third-party service supplier Instacart to perform deliveries in Atlanta, Dallas and Los Angeles.

Once a customer places an order on Instacart's website or app, the company will collect and deliver the products from Aldi’s facility.

Customers opting for the service need to pay a fee, and the company stated that delivered items may cost more than they do in-store.

Aldi noted that the delivery service may be expanded to more cities.
