Home speciality retailer Williams-Sonoma has extended the temporary closure of its stores in the US and Canada due to the coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic.

The decision will remain in effect until 31 May and cover only locations that still remain under complete lockdown restrictions.

The retailer closed its stores on 18 March to support the efforts to fight the spread of Covid-19.

Meanwhile, it will continue with its market-by-market approach with regards to reopening stores in compliance with local and state government guidelines.

“We are closely following CDC and government guidelines and have in place strict safety protocols including regular sanitisation, limitation on the number of customers and associates in-store, appointment shopping, and a supply of protective equipment such as masks and gloves for associates.

“Our stores are an important differentiator for our business, and we are excited to welcome our customers back to our stores.”
