Quiznos, a quick service restaurant (QSR) chain based in the US, has drawn an extensive retail expansion strategy with 1,000 restaurant openings in more than 40 countries by 2020.
The openings are the latest in a series of recent Quiznos international development announcements, including expansion into Mexico.
Of these proposed stores, 500 are planned in Russia over the next ten years through its franchise partner QSR Russia.
Quiznos International president Kenneth Cutshaw said that the company’s franchisee, QSR Russia, has adopted an aggressive timeline to unveil hundreds of Quiznos across Russia.
"We couldn’t be happier to be working with a strategic partner that knows the Russian market and its needs so well," added Cutshaw.
Quizons has recently forayed into Russia with two new restaurants in St. Petersburg city.
The St. Petersburg city is set to house nearly 60 outlets, while Moscow will have 50 of the chain’s stores over the next five years.
QSR Russia founder and CEO Darrin Stock noted: "There is no doubt in my mind that customers will be lining up for our Chef inspired toasted subs and traditional local favorites such as Borscht and Cream of Mushroom soup. I also have to say that our first location in the center of the city at Sennaya Square Metro, with over 34 million passengers annually, is amazing."
