Tommy Hilfiger Group signs JV with Inbrands to expand brand network in Brazil

The Tommy Hilfiger Group has formed a joint venture with and Brazilian multichannel distribution network Inbrands to operate, manage and distribute certain the retailer's branded products in the country.

The Tommy Hilfiger Group has formed a joint venture with and Brazilian multichannel distribution network Inbrands to operate, manage and distribute certain the retailer’s branded products in the country.

The partnership also includes includes Latin America and the Caribbean distributor for Tommy, American Sportswear (ASSA) as a minority partner and will begin its wholesale and retail operations starting 4 January 2013.

ASSA will continue to operate the Tommy Hilfiger brand in all the other countries in South America, Central America and the Caribbean.

The company believes that the partnership will aide the brand’s expasnion in Brazil and across the global.

Commenting on the joint venture The Tommy Hilfiger Group CEO Fred Gehring said the move allows the company to directly support the development and expansion of its retail and wholesale business in Brazil.

"Similar to our expansion strategy in other markets, this partnership will allow for accelerated growth in one of the world’s most exciting, high growth emerging markets," said Gehring.

Inbrands brand director Alexandre Brett added, "I look forward to growing and developing the Tommy Hilfiger business in Brazil with The Tommy Hilfiger Group and ASSA."

The company markets and manages global lifestyle and premium fashion brands in Brazil, including a portfolio of iconic global and local Brazilian brands.
