Australia-based Domino’s Pizza has reported 25.7% increase in net profit to $26.9m for the fiscal ended 1 July 2012, compared to $21.4m in fiscal 2011.

The fastfood chain posted 7.4% increase in net revenues to $264.9m, compared to $246.7m in 2011. Earnings before interest, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) for the year increased by 23.1% to $48.1m, compared to $39.1m in 2011.

Total network sales for the pizza franchise increased by 7.9% to $805.3m, compared to 2011, while same store sales rose by 6.5% across the global store network and 6.6% in Australia and New Zealand.

Domino’s chief executive officer Don Meij said the solid full year results and sales growth were attributed to successful new product innovations across both markets and a significant increase in sales coming from Domino’s digital platforms.

"Our solid performance for the 2012 full year is the result of rolling out new products including our improved Classic Crust in Australia and New Zealand while over in Europe we introduced new flavours during the year including curry, pepper sauce and coconut cream," Meij added.

"In addition, we were the first Quick Service Restaurant to launch Facebook ordering – offering our 900,000+ Australia and New Zealand Facebook fans the opportunity to order without leaving the social media environment."

During the period, the chain opened 62 new outlets globally, of which 24 are in Australia and New Zealand, and remaining in Europe.

The company is also looking to open over 80 outlets, including its 1000th outlet in December 2013. It expects to generate 15% increase in net profit for 2013, compared to 2012.

Domino’s Pizza is the master franchisee for the Domino’s Pizza brand in Australia, New Zealand, France, Belgium and the Netherlands, and employs around 21,000 employees.
