UAE-based real estate developer Emaar Properties is set to build a new shopping centre in Dubai in association with Dubai Holdings.

The new centre named ‘Mohammed Bin Rashid City’ is expected to be the largest mall in the world including 100 hotels, residential areas and green spaces, besides plans to station chain of retail outlets.

Talking about the development of new mall, Dubai ruler Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum said that the project, comprising four key components, would feature world class leisure facilities and provides an integrated environment for the development of entrepreneurship and innovation.

"The current facilities available in Dubai need to be scaled up in line with the future ambitions for the city," added Maktoum.

The project that is classified into four categories involves family tourism with an entertainment centre in the first component while second component includes retail section, ‘Mall of the world’.

Art galleries will comprise the third component of the mall and an integrated environment for entrepreneurship and innovation would be the fourth component.

The builders claim that this hub will feature the largest retail mall of the world, surpassing Emaar’s shopping centre, The Dubai Mall.
