Fully integrated oil & gas company Essar Oil (EOL) will partner with coffee conglomerate Amalgamated Bean Coffee Trading’s Café Coffee Day (CCD) to increase its non-fuel revenues.
As part of the agreement, Café Coffee Day unveiled its first outlet at an Essar petrol pump on the Pune-Ahmednagar highway.
Essar Oil marketing CEO S Thangapandian said non-fuel business is a strategic business for the company and it expects to contribute significantly to the company’s growth in the near future.
"Our tie-up with Cafe Coffee Day is part of this strategy and it also results in effective use of available land in a retail outlet’s premises, thus leveraging on the available resources to a maximum level," Thangapandian added.
Café Coffee Day marketing president K Ramakrishnan said that they have shortlisted several other Essar Oil outlets to set up its signature cafes.
The coffee chain operates 1,100 stores across the country and plans to open over additional outlets 2,000 by 2014 offers its entire range of food and beverages.
