Hair salon franchise Hairhouse Warehouse has teamed up with Myer, an Australian chain of upscale mid-to-high-range department stores, to launch new concession store model outlets.

The partners will jointy open the Hairhouse Warehouse’s concession outlets inside Myer stores.

Hairhouse Warehouse’s first concession store is expected to open in late September at the Myer store located in Melbourne’s Bourke Street Mall.

Hairhouse Warehouse CEO Arthur Mitroulas was quoted by Franchising as saying that the concession store will be opened on the cosmetics floor of Myer.

"It’ll be open plan, 25 to 30 square metres, and we’ll be using a beauty room for more professional services," Mitroulas added.

The professional services will include hair extensions, hair treatments and piercing services as well and besides retail space, the stores will also include a Style Bar, where women can pop in for a quick style or consultation.

"We have unique products that are salon-only and those include products like GHD for electricals, Redken for haircare, KMS and Loreal Professional."

"This will be the first time where customers can purchase professional salon products from a Myer department store."

The opportunity to operate a concession store will only be available to existing franchisees, company said.

"We’re currently reviewing a site in Bondi and we’ve actually allocated 25 to 30 locations that would be suitable across the country," Mitroulas said.

"All CBD sites across the country – Queensland, Perth, Adelaide – and then what we call A-grade sites such as Chadstone, Doncaster and Chatswood."

Hairhouse Warehouse expects to have around seven concession sites in Melbourne, NSW and the remainder spread across Australia, in next two to three years.

The chain currently has 136 stores across the country and is planning to open stores in Asia, US and the UK.
