IDT subsidiary National Retail Solutions (NRS) has concluded its first coupon support vehicle programme for an over-the-counter offer from a health-focused consumer packaged goods (CPG) supplier in the US.
The programme leveraged NRS' point-of-sale (POS) terminal network, which operates in more than 2,300 retail stores across the country.
NRS president Elie Katz said: "We are rapidly expanding our point-of-sale network. Our versatile POS terminals are now helping over 2,300 bodegas and other independent retailers compete more effectively with big retail chains.
“Our coupon support vehicle programmes offer both our participating retailers and CPG suppliers a powerful channel to extend their marketing reach and drive sales."
As part of the coupon support programme, the CPG's offer was promoted and distributed by NRS to its POS-networked retailers in New York and New Jersey.
NRS opened 655 new points of distribution for the CPG client.
NRS vice-president Eli Korn said: "This agreement reflects our unique capabilities to help CPG suppliers penetrate the fragmented but extremely robust and dynamic urban retail market.
"We can help CPG brands increase their visibility and penetration in our retailer locations, market to our BR Rewards Club members, and engage urban retailers and consumers directly with coupon offerings."
NRS operates a POS terminal-based platform to bodegas and other independent retailers nationwide.
The platform provides CPG suppliers with improved access and reach into the urban consumer markets served by bodegas and other independent retailers.
