US grocery chain Kroger is recruiting 15,000 new associates as it aims to enhance the shopping experience for its customers.

Available positions include those of cashier, bagger, deli bakery clerk, pharmacy technician and delivery driver for Kroger’s own delivery service.

Kroger executive vice-president and chief associate experience officer Tim Massa stated: “Led by ‘Our Purpose to Feed the Human Spirit,’ we are hiring dedicated associates who share our commitment to be ‘Fresh for Everyone’ in delivering fresh, affordable food and exceptional customer experiences.

“We invite future associates to make a home at Kroger and discover a fresh opportunity with competitive pay and benefits, flexible schedules and a promise to invest in your future.”

Kroger offers associates a compensation package that includes healthcare benefits and retirement plans.

The company also has a tuition reimbursement programme that provides up to $21,000 for both part-time and full-time associates, covering educational pursuits from GED [General Equivalency Diploma] courses all the way to PhD programmes. Since its launch, Kroger has invested more than $64m in the initiative, aiding numerous associates to advance their education, with 90% of beneficiaries being hourly workers.
