
Danish retailer Salling Group has signed a long-term strategic partnership with IT services provider Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), aimed at advancing sustainability and technological innovation while enhancing efficiency across the organisation.
The partnership encompasses Salling’s network of 2,100 outlets, its workforce of 68,000 in Denmark, Estonia, Germany, Latvia, Lithuania and Poland, its retail entities BR toy stores and the Carl’s Jr and Starbucks franchises, and supermarkets føtex, Bilka, Netto and RIMI Baltic.
Salling Group CIO Alan Jensen stated: “At Salling Group, everything we do is ultimately to help make our customers’ lives better. This project is no exception. Our partnership with TCS will help us better respond to their changing needs and do so responsibly and sustainably. This partnership helps us drive our ‘Aspire 28’ strategy that includes goals of more stores, acquisitions and mergers in existing and new markets.”
TCS will also focus on refining the e-commerce platform to better adapt to changing consumer needs. It plans to use its AI-driven cloud operations solution, Cloud Exponence, which employs a ‘machine first’ strategy to enhance the synergy between machine and human efforts.
This approach is designed to offer efficient managed services within hybrid cloud settings.
By integrating AI and automating routine operations, along with ensuring security and compliance, the solution aims to minimise the complexities of cloud management, ensure uniform service delivery and provide comprehensive infrastructure services.
