Marks & Spencer (M&S) has reached a partnership with David Jones, a department store in Australia, to introduce its fashion line to the Australian market.

The collaboration is M&S’s inaugural international wholesale venture within its fashion division.

It builds on the momentum of a successful wholesale initiative with Target in the US that saw the rapid sell-out of the Percy Pig brand.

M&S is focused on developing a worldwide omnichannel presence by collaborating with franchise partners in key markets, enhancing online sales through prominent marketplaces, and exploring new wholesale opportunities.

Effective immediately, select items from M&S women’s, men’s, and lingerie collections will be available for purchase both online and in 24 David Jones locations across Australia, including major stores in Sydney and Melbourne.

David Jones Womenswear executive general manager Bridget Veals stated: “The arrival of M&S marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter for us, as we continue to curate a world-class portfolio of brands that deliver both elevated everyday essentials and exceptional value.

“We’re proud to be the exclusive home of Marks & Spencer fashion in Australia and look forward to building a strong and enduring connection between this global brand and our customers.”

David Jones serves more than five million customers annually throughout Australia and brand recognition for M&S now extends to above half the country’s population.

M&S international managing director Mark Lemming stated: “Last year we reset our priorities for international, with a focus on offering the magic of M&S to customers across the world. With consistent growth in food and fashion, home and beauty, and strong brand momentum as the UK’s most trusted retailer, there is now so much opportunity for us to grow our business globally.

“We’re taking our first steps in Australia; it’s a market which has always shared long-standing and strong links with the UK and where brand recognition is high. With a shared set of values surrounding quality, innovation and trust, David Jones is the perfect partner as we take our first venture into a partnership in fashion.”

In early July 2025, M&S announced its plans to invest £300m ($411.3m) in the financial year 2025 to accelerate the rotation and renewal of its stores.
