Online sales surged to 28% of Ikea’s retail sales in FY24, compared to 11% in FY19. The retailer states that the combination of Locus’s technology will help it meet this growth.
The move complements prior tech investments such as Made4net for warehouse management and TaskRabbit for furniture assembly.

This acquisition strengthens the digital capabilities required to meet rising customer expectations, while ensuring the quality and reliability IKEA is known for.”
In August 2025, Ingka Group announced a leadership change, with Juvencio Maeztu succeeding Jesper Brodin as CEO and president on 5 November 2025.
Maeztu, its deputy CEO, has a 25-year tenure with Ikea, while Brodin is stepping down after eight years as CEO and 30 years with the company.
