US retailer Amazon is set to bring its rapid delivery service, Amazon Now, to the US and Europe after early traction in India and the UAE.
The company introduced the service last year in India and the UAE, enabling delivery of thousands of products within 20 minutes via a network of micro-fulfilment centres.

In India, Amazon operates more than 360 such facilities, with further expansion underway.
The company said order volumes for Amazon Now in the country are rising by 25% month-on-month, while Prime members are tripling their purchase frequency after adopting the service.
According to the company, the international rollout aligns with its broader efforts to accelerate delivery speeds across markets.
Amazon is advancing several parallel initiatives to shorten delivery times, including scaling its micro-fulfilment infrastructure and developing drone-based logistics through Prime Air.
Amazon noted that ultra-fast delivery through micro-fulfilment centres is already operational, whereas drone delivery remains a longer-term project.
It added that both models are designed to complement each other, with drones expected to deliver a wider range of items within 30 minutes while Amazon Now focuses on fulfilling thousands of products within a 20-minute window.
The planned expansion of Amazon Now forms part of the company’s wider strategy to enhance rapid delivery capabilities across key global markets.
Last month, Amazon said it is also broadening its fast delivery services in the US by introducing one-hour and three-hour shipping options in an increasing number of locations.
Customers in several locations can now receive selected items within hours under an expanded same-day delivery offering.
In the same month, Amazon cut jobs in its robotics division, as part of a broader cost-reduction effort that has eliminated over 57,000 corporate roles since late 2022.
