Design details
Garden Walk Mall’s contemporary architecture takes clear cues from the local heritage and surrounding landscape, drawing inspiration from coastal influences and the engineered aesthetic of port-side architecture.
The design incorporates raw textures, curved structures and natural, muted colours, and generous natural light to reinforce a strong sense of place and long-term durability.
Steel, timber and brick elevations reflect the area’s industrial legacy, while the building’s curving form echoes the lines of the nearby dunes and sea vistas.
Art is a prominent feature of the development, with installations and murals referencing the local landscape, indigenous plant and animal life, and the nearby coastline, reinforcing the connection to the Garden Route’s natural setting.
