The Amazon Fresh platform connects 13,000 registered farmers directly with consumers through a farm-to-home delivery system.
Products undergo a four-step quality assurance process: inspection at collection points, grading and sorting, temperature-controlled storage and final checks before reaching customers.
Amazon Fresh facilitates the availability of items from farm-fresh produce to everyday household necessities, with options for two-hour delivery slots.
Since 2023, the service has expanded ten-fold and now offers more than 40,000 products including fresh fruit and vegetables, staples, dairy, packaged foods, frozen items, beauty and personal care products, and pet supplies.

In September 2025, Amazon announced plans to close all 19 of its Fresh supermarkets in the UK as part of a strategic shift in its grocery operations.
The proposal followed a “thorough evaluation of business operations and the very substantial growth opportunities in online delivery,” stated a company blog post.
The company initiated a consultation with employees regarding the closures but did not disclose the number of staff affected.
