Japan’s Fast Retailing, parent company of Uniqlo, has reported an annual profit for the fourth consecutive year. 

For the fiscal year ended 31 August 2025, the company’s consolidated revenue rose 9.6% year-on-year to Y3.4tn ($22.3bn).

Business profit increased 13.6% to Y551.1bn, while profit attributable to owners of the parent grew 16.4% to Y433.0bn. 

Revenue in North America grew 24.5%, and business profit rose 35.1%.

Uniqlo Japan reported revenue of Y1.02tn, an increase of 10.1% and business profit of Y181.3bn, up 17.5% from the previous year.  

Same-store sales improved 8.1% year-on-year, with growth of 9.8% in the first half and 6.2% in the second half.

The company’s full-year gross profit margin was broadly stable, with its selling, general and administrative expense ratio improving by 1.2 points. 

Uniqlo International posted revenue of Y1.91tn, up 11.6%, and business profit of Y305.3bn, an increase of 10.6%.  

Although the Greater China market saw a drop in revenue and profit, operations in South Korea, Southeast Asia, India, Australia, North America, and Europe reported gains, driven by new store openings and marketing efforts. 

The GU brand recorded revenue of Y330.7bn, up 3.6%, but business profit declined 12.6% to Y28.3bn, reflecting higher personnel and store-opening costs, including expenses related to a new store in the US. 

Global Brands posted a 5.3% fall in revenue to Y131.5bn, but business profit improved to Y2.6bn from Y0.1bn a year earlier, despite an operating loss of Y0.9bn associated with restructuring at Comptoir des Cotonniers. 

For fiscal 2026, Fast Retailing expects consolidated revenue to increase 10.3% to Y3.75tn, business profit to rise 10.7% to Y610.0bn, and profit attributable to owners of the parent to edge up 0.5% to Y435.0bn. 

The company announced plans for an annual dividend of Y520 per share, split evenly between interim and year-end payments.  

It also aims to expand its global store network to 3,594 locations by the end of August 2026: 794 Uniqlo Japan stores, 1,765 Uniqlo International stores, 489 GU stores and 546 Global Brands stores. 

New flagship outlets are planned in North America, Europe and Greater China.
