British supermarket chain Morrisons has entered a new five-year agreement with Indian IT service provider Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), expanding their collaboration to support digital transformation.
The agreement will see TCS helping Morrisons to align its retail, e-commerce and marketing operations, speeding up the delivery of digital products.

TCS has supported several digital initiatives at Morrisons since the two companies’ began their partnership in 2014.
These initiatives include supply chain transformation projects that improved stock availability, reduced waste and shortened lead times, highlighted the tech vendor.
TCS will also establish an automation factory and a Business Intelligent Command Centre (BICC) to provide a comprehensive view of operations, enable proactive problem-solving and facilitate data-driven decision-making.

The tech company will offer end-to-end engineering services encompassing application design, development, testing and maintenance.
The agreement also includes modernisation of legacy systems and the integration of AI-powered tools to enhance service outcomes.
According to TCS, the partnership aims to enhance operational efficiency and improve customer experience across Morrisons’ core business areas.
In addition, the company will revamp Morrisons’ digital platforms for loyalty, marketing, e-commerce and retail to consolidate vendors and improve operational synergy.
The company has also collaborated with the retailer to upgrade HR operations by modernising IT and engineering practices.
TCS has been active in the UK for more than five decades and works with over 200 major British brands.
The company reported 10% growth and a 7.6% market share in the UK, with revenues of $4.58bn (£3.51bn) in fiscal year 2024.
Morrisons remains the UK’s fifth-largest supermarket chain, serving customers through its physical stores and online channels.

In September, TCS announced the integration of Nvidia’s accelerated computing and AI Enterprise software into its retail technology offerings.
