Wholesale distributor National Convenience Distributors (NCD) has purchased Colonial Wholesale Distributing for an undisclosed amount.

Located in Tampa, Florida, Colonial Distributing is a wholesale distributor to the convenience and grocery store industries.

The company will join NCD as a newly created division after the acquisition.

The addition will expand the geographical footprint of NCD from Maine to Florida.

Colonial founder Yasin Saad said: “The merger of Colonial Distributors with National Convenience Distributors greatly enhances the capabilities and product offerings that Colonial can now provide its customers.

“We built the state-of-the-art Colonial facilities with significant growth in mind. Now, as part of a larger organisation, the opportunities throughout Colonial are greatly increased and we look forward to continuing impressive growth.”

NCD supplies businesses of all sizes, large and small. It currently serves 23,800 customers in the eastern US from Maine to Florida.

The company distributes candy, snacks, fresh sandwiches and salads, cigarettes and premium cigars and coffee, as well as frozen and refrigerated foods.

It operates in 13 states and has annual revenues close to $3.5bn.
