Fashion retailer Primark has unveiled a €40m ($45m) investment in Italy as part of its international growth plans to expand across new and existing markets.
The investment will see the addition of five new stores to its Italian network, raising the total number of outlets in the country to 26. The five stores will open in Rome, Biella, Perugia and Naples.
The move will create 700 jobs, supplementing its existing workforce of more than 5,000 in the country.
The Biella store will be within the Gli Orsi shopping centre, while Perugia’s store will be located at the Collestrada shopping centre.
Naples will welcome two Primark branches, one at the Grande Sud retail park and the other at La Cartiera shopping centre.
The initiative follows the successful launch of Primark Roma Maximo and Roma Est in 2020 and 2021.
