Its range includes groceries, dairy products, frozen foods, beverages and ready-to-eat meal options.

According to the retailer, the supermarket is fitted with contemporary fixtures, refrigeration systems, a hot food section and regularly updated in-store specials.

The Bloomfield outlet is owned and operated by independent retailers Manpreet Dhanda and Manjit Singh.

The duo entered the SPAR network in 2020 with the launch of their first SPAR Express store in Orange and bring experience in servicing the local retail community.

Dhanda said both the owners “are dedicated to the SPAR ethos and plan to further expand their retail presence, continuing to meet the needs of local shoppers with convenience and reliability”.

Through the new supermarket, the operators plan to continue community-oriented activities, including employing local residents, supporting sporting clubs, contributing to local organisations and hosting fundraising initiatives within the store.

SPAR entered the Australian market in 1994, with its current corporate structure formed in 2006.

In late 2010, Jardin Investments was granted the licence by SPAR International to operate the brand nationally.

SPAR Australia sub-licenses the brand to independent retailers, operates company-owned stores and provides distribution and support services through its Brisbane distribution centre.

Elsewhere, DESPAR Italia (SPAR Italy) expanded its presence in the Italian grocery sector in November, adding ten new outlets and reopening two revamped stores.

All openings were across its DESPAR Express, DESPAR Supermarket and EUROSPAR formats.

Five DESPAR Express convenience stores were launched.

The new locations were in Castrovillari, Villapiana, Strongoli, Corigliano-Rossano and Limbadi.
