SPAR Saudi Arabia has launched its new flagship store, SPAR Express, at the King Abdullah Financial District (KAFD) metro station in Riyadh.
The development marks a strategic shift for SPAR Saudi Arabia towards prioritising retail convenience in central urban locations. By adopting successful methods from the global SPAR network, the company is transitioning into the food convenience market.
In a LinkedIn post, the SPAR Saudi Arabia said: “This milestone is a significant step in our journey toward Vision 2030, aligning with our strategy to expand our footprint and enhance retail convenience in key urban hubs connecting the financial district with King Khalid International Airport. With its monorail system and vibrant indoor and outdoor public spaces, it is set to be a landmark transportation and lifestyle destination.”
The store operates 24/7, catering to the travellers at the metro station and offering a range of goods from the SPAR bakery brand.
The bakery offers freshly baked goods, a café with hot and cold beverages and a food-to-go section with sandwiches and salads for commuters, working professionals and visitors.
The opening follows the company’s win in the competition to operate a retail store at the KAFD metro station.
