Westfield Jeddah is a new retail and lifestyle project being developed in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, by Cenomi Centers (formerly Arabian Centres Company), an owner and operator of lifestyle centres.
The development is part of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 initiative aimed at supporting retail activity, tourism and job creation, with plans to employ 2,500 Saudi nationals including 1,500 women.
The mall was earlier named Jawharat Jeddah and is being developed along with the Jawharat Riyadh and Nakheel Dammam malls.
In May 2025, Cenomi Centers and Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield (URW) entered a ten-year strategic and franchise agreement for the Saudi Arabian shopping centre market, with an option to renew for an additional ten years.
Under this arrangement, Cenomi Centers will hold exclusive rights to use the Westfield brand in Saudi Arabia, granted by URW.
The agreement will give Cenomi Centers access to URW’s network and support in activities such as leasing, operations, marketing and retail media.
Jawharat Jeddah, Jawharat Riyadh and Nakheel Dammam have been renamed Westfield Jeddah, Westfield Riyadh and Westfield Dammam, respectively, as part of the agreement.
Construction on the Westfield Jeddah mall is ongoing. As of September 2025, the mall was 99% complete.
Westfield Jeddah is scheduled to open in April 2026. It is expected to attract more than 18 million visitors annually.
Westfield Jeddah location
Westfield Jeddah is being developed in the Al Basateen district within Jeddah’s northern expansion area and is a short driving distance from many higher-income residential zones.
The site stands on a busy roundabout, roughly ten minutes by car from the airport, and is located near the Corniche, several hotels, key medical facilities and residential districts. Additionally, it has easy access to Makkah.
Westfield Jeddah details
Westfield Jeddah will extend over three floors and have a gross leasable area (GLA) of 104,000m² (1.1 million square feet).
The retail complex will house more than 300 branded retail units including over 50 flagship outlets. It will introduce the city’s first dedicated luxury wing spanning 20,000m2 and accommodating more than 60 brands.
More than 30 fashion brands at the mall will be entering the Jeddah market for the first time.
Food and beverage provision will be organised into three zones, and the scheme will incorporate entertainment areas and activation spaces. It will provide parking for more than 3,500 cars.
Design details
A key feature of the mall will be a 22,000m2 skylight, 27m floor-to-ceiling heights and 30m-wide corridors.
The mall will feature wide internal boulevards that are clearly structured to not only aid movement but also to encourage social interaction and longer dwell times.
These areas function as promenades and modern high streets, supporting everyday routines whether visitors are shopping, meeting friends or spending time at leisure.
The mall also features a grid-shell roof drawing in abundant natural light, providing an airy and open environment.
Climate control, shaded walkways and smooth transitions between indoor and outdoor zones allow visitors to move easily in every season.
The entrances are intended to function as transitional zones between the city and the mall’s interior. Framed by 20m-high arches, they offer an inviting feeling while also serving as gateways for brands by increasing visibility and establishing a strong presence at the earliest point of contact.
Contractors involved
Lynx Contracting, a Saudi Arabian contracting company, was appointed as the main contractor for constructing the Westfield Jeddah mall.
Echo Architecture, a design-and-build provider based in Riyadh, was commissioned to design the Westfield Jeddah project. The company was awarded the contract in 2020 and engaged as the lead architect.
GammaStone, an Italian supplier of opaque enclosures, provided travertine natural stone for the facades of the mall.
In February 2024, SAG Contracting received the mechanical works package for the development. The scope of work covers the chilled water plant and distribution system, plumbing networks, and kitchen exhaust and fresh air ducting across the Westfield Jeddah development.
STED, an engineering services provider based in Saudi Arabia, is also involved in the project.
