Discount chain Aldi Belgium is replacing its paper price labels with digital price tags across all stores to streamline operations and provide customers with a more dynamic shopping experience.
The transition will commence in East and West Flanders, Belgium, and all 445 Aldi stores across the country will feature electronic labels by the end of 2025.

The digital displays will come in four colours, each signifying a specific pricing category.
Red represents promotions or price drops, white is for regular prices, black is for new products and yellow is for items linked to the Aldi loyalty programmes.
Aldi Belgium sales manager Céline Rotthier stated: “Working with digital price displays is much more efficient. With a single click, we can instantly adjust a price in all our stores. As a discounter, we’re constantly looking for ways to simplify our operations. The costs we save this way can be reinvested in our low prices.”
In addition to the digital upgrade, Aldi is also undertaking a comprehensive renovation of its Oudergem store at Steenweg op Waver 1805 in Belgium.

Aldi Belgium expansion manager Dagmar Bernaers stated: “Our current store is in a prime location. It also allows us to optimally serve our customers from the south of Oudergem and Boitsfort. However, the store is due for a thorough renovation to enhance shopping comfort.”
The Oudergem store will see an expansion of its sales area to 1,220m² to accommodate an extensive range of fresh produce and weekly promotions.

The reopening of the store is set for the end of 2027, with nearby Aldi locations available for customers during the interim.
