Administrators of UK beauty chain Bodycare have confirmed the closure of its 56 remaining stores, leading to the loss of 444 jobs.

The health and beauty retailer appointed administrators from advisory company Interpath on 5 September 2025, citing rising costs and a funding shortfall that affected supplier relationships and caused stock shortages.

Following its entry to administration in early September 2025, Bodycare had already shut down several stores.

The decision to close the remaining outlets comes after its administrators were unable to secure a buyer for the chain.

In a statement, the joint administrators noted that they were in discussions with various parties interested in the business, including the Bodycare brand.

“While these discussions remain ongoing, it is with regret that the administrators confirm that a sale of the stores is now unlikely,” the statement read. “Given the shortage of stock and significant costs associated with operating stores, it is no longer viable to continue to trade the business. As such, the joint administrators have made the difficult decision to commence a closure programme for the remaining 56 stores.”

All stores are expected to close by 27 September 2025.

The administrators have committed to supporting affected employees, including assistance with claims to the Redundancy Payments Service.

Nick Holloway, managing director at Interpath and joint administrator, stated: “We understand this has been a difficult period and so we want to further express our sincere thanks to Bodycare’s staff who, since day one of the administration, have maintained the strong standards of presentation and customer service that Bodycare was renowned for.

“We will continue to explore options for the company’s assets, including the Bodycare brand, and will provide further updates in due course.”
