M&S apparel has been available in the Dutch market since 2022 through marketplace platforms such as Zalando, and the company said regional turnover has climbed 46% over the past six months, ranking it as its “second-best performing country” for marketplace revenue.
M&S International managing director Mark Lemming said: “Our partnership with Amazon continues to grow with momentum. As we continue to accelerate our new channel growth, we’re delighted to respond to demand from customers in the Netherlands and expand our product offer in the market, bringing the exceptional quality and value of M&S fashion to more people.”
The UK retailer’s Amazon presence began in February this year, covering France, Germany, Spain and Italy, where top-selling items have included denim for women, infant products and bras.
The Dutch rollout will draw on Amazon’s regional fulfilment infrastructure, offering next-day delivery to shoppers, with the service free of charge for Amazon Prime subscribers.
M&S linked the move to its broader push toward a worldwide omnichannel model built on low-capital, scalable arrangements that make use of partner companies’ existing infrastructure.
The group’s overseas division posted triple-digit growth in marketplace turnover this quarter across its tie-ups with Amazon, Zalando and About You.
Amazon.nl country manager Eva Faict: “We are excited to bring another much-loved global brand to Amazon in the Netherlands, helping us offer customers even greater selection.”
The company is also broadening its footprint in other overseas markets.
Last month, M&S signed a fresh franchise deal in the Philippines with PT Mitra Adiperkasa (MAP), with the initial outlet set to open at Glorietta before the end of this year.
The arrangement builds on a partnership spanning more than 20 years between M&S and the Indonesian lifestyle retailer, which already runs the UK company’s franchise operations in Indonesia and Vietnam.
M&S posted a sharp decline in profits for the year to 28 March 2026, following a cyber incident during the first half of the financial year that disrupted operations across the business.
