Home improvement retailer Wickes Group recorded group revenue growth of 2.3% in the second quarter ended 27 June 2026, with like-for-like (LfL) sales increasing in both design and installation (D&I) and retail.

Quarterly group revenue totalled £483m ($646.1m), taking first-half revenue to £865m.

This was 2.1% higher year-on-year (YoY), with LfL growth of 0.6% across the six-month period.

In retail, revenue rose 1.8% to £366m in the quarter, following a 1.7% LfL decline in the first quarter.

The D&I division reported revenue of £117m for the quarter, up 3.8%, while LfL sales increased 1.8%.

Wickes said this was the fifth consecutive quarter of positive growth in delivered sales for the division.

According to the company, higher customer numbers continued to increase volumes in retail, supported by a deflationary pricing backdrop.

Wickes also said it had outperformed the wider market, resulting in first-half market share gains compared with the previous year.

Within retail, sales through the TradePro loyalty scheme increased 6% YoY while active membership rose 9% to 671,000.

DIY sales were broadly stable, and digital channels, Click & Collect and Home Delivery, grew by 7%.

In D&I, Wickes said the lifestyle kitchens and bespoke bathrooms ranges produced strong growth.

It also said orders for bespoke kitchens slowed as customers took a more cautious approach to bigger-ticket purchases.

Across its store estate, the group refitted or refreshed eight stores and closed one in the first half.

For full-year 2026, it is targeting four to five new store openings as well as 15 to 20 refits or refreshes.

For the remainder of 2026, Wickes said it expects modest market growth and remains comfortable with consensus expectations for adjusted profit before tax for the year.

The company cited its productivity plan and lower business rates as support for profitability in the second half.

Wickes CEO David Wood said: “This has been another period of revenue growth, driven once again by volumes and an increase in the number of Wickes customers.

“Our Retail business has performed well given the current external environment, with TradePro’s convenient and value-led offer seeing even more local tradespeople turn to Wickes. Looking ahead, our strategy leaves us well-placed to continue to win as we accelerate our store rollout and refresh programme.”
