Fashion chain Primark will launch home delivery across Great Britain for the first time, its parent Associated British Foods (ABF) said alongside its Q4 2026 trading update.

To support the new channel, the retailer has bought a highly automated fulfilment centre in Sheffield, following what ABF termed “a detailed review”.

The addition extends Primark’s current Click & Collect offering, which has grown across the UK in recent years alongside its digital marketing efforts and app.

Home delivery will run in parallel with the company’s store-based model rather than substitute it.

ABF CEO George Weston said: “Actions to strengthen Primark’s customer proposition have continued at pace. Our priority focus areas, the UK and womenswear, continued to outperform our other markets and categories.

“Primark has made significant progress in building its digital capabilities and will continue this through both growing Click & Collect and by offering home delivery in Great Britain in the future. There is now an opportunity for incremental and profitable growth through this channel.”

Primark’s fourth-quarter sales are projected to rise by roughly 2%, driven by new store openings and its franchise arrangement, which together are set to add 5%.

This growth is expected to be tempered by a like-for-like (LfL) sales fall of approximately 3%.

Within the UK, sales are forecast to increase by around 1% over the quarter, with LfL sales staying largely level.

ABF noted that Primark increased its market share in a UK sector that contracted during the period.

Trading in the region was hampered by extended warm weather, which pushed back demand for seasonal clothing, though performance picked up once conditions turned cooler.

Across continental Europe, where consumer sentiment continues to be subdued, quarterly sales are expected to drop by around 1%, with LfL sales down 4.3%.

In the US, sales are projected to climb by approximately 11% during the fourth quarter.

“Our recently opened Manhattan store performed well, with good execution of six other new store openings in Q4 taking Primark to a total of 47 stores in the US,” the group said.

Looking at the full 2026 financial year, Primark’s sales are anticipated to grow by roughly 2% while LfL sales are expected to fall by around 2.6%.

The adjusted operating margin remains forecast at approximately 10%.

ABF continues to progress plans to demerge Primark, with completion anticipated in December 2027.

The company will announce its annual results for the 52 weeks to 12 September 2026 on 3 November 2026.
