Ombak KLCC (Kuala Lumpur City Centre) is a lifestyle and cultural hub in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, developed by KLCC Property Holdings, a subsidiary of Petronas.
The project integrates retail, food and beverage outlets, lifestyle venues, art-focused spaces and a rooftop sky garden.
It officially opened in August 2026, adding a new mixed-use destination to one of South East Asia’s most prominent urban districts.
Location
The Ombak KLCC shopping mall is situated within the Kuala Lumpur City Centre precinct, adjacent to the Petronas Twin Towers. It lies at the north-eastern edge of KLCC Park along Persiaran KLCC and Jalan Binjai.
The mall is designed to integrate with the wider KLCC precinct rather than operate as a stand-alone destination. It has direct connectivity to the Persiaran KLCC MRT (mass rapid transit) station, approximately a two‑minute walk away, and is linked via walkways to Suria KLCC, KLCC Park and the precinct’s underground car park.
The development is also due to form the podium base for the proposed Tower M, a 700m-high super-tall tower.
Ombak KLCC shopping mall details
The Ombak KLCC development comprises around 420,000ft² (39,019m²) of net lettable area across six retail floors comprising roughly 120 retail and food and beverage units, with a rooftop sky garden on the seventh level.
The open-air rooftop sky garden, covering around 3,500m² (37,673ft²), incorporates lawns and landscaped seating areas intended for leisure and photography, and provides views over KLCC Park and the Petronas Twin Towers. The garden is organised as a series of linked zones around a central oculus.
The Ombak KLCC mall incorporates a dedicated space for Galeri Petronas, designed as a cantilevered gallery that projects into the public realm. It is aimed at creating a visible interface between artistic practice and the city, supporting interaction between artists, visitors and the surrounding urban environment.
Established in 1992, Galeri Petronas showcases the diversity of Malaysian and international art across different periods. It presents the Petronas Art Collection, which includes paintings, sculptures, textiles and photography by prominent Malaysian artists, alongside selected works from abroad. The full permanent gallery is scheduled to open by the end of 2027.
The development also includes four basement levels of on-site parking. Internal lift and escalator connections, together with linkways, provide access to surrounding landmarks.

Design details of the Ombak KLCC mall
The mall’s architectural concept centres on a flowing, ribbon-like façade inspired by the movement of water, creating a visual contrast with the more linear forms of the surrounding KLCC skyline.
The design draws on traditional weaving, aligning structure and expression in a unified form. Curved bands wrap around the podium, producing a smooth, layered and continuous profile that defines Ombak KLCC’s external character.
These flowing elements shape the cantilevered gallery, frame a sheltered public plaza, consolidate key arrival points and connect to the landscaped rooftop.
Contractors involved
Kohn Pedersen Fox is the architect of the Ombak KLCC development, while the Samsung C&T Engineering & Construction (E&C) Group oversaw the construction. The SEAL Group was contracted by Samsung C&T for the reinforced concrete work for the project.
