Flipkart Online Service (Flipkart.com), an online retailer based in India, has purchased a majority stake in PhonePe Internet, a mobile payment company that processes transactions via a mobile number.
The acquisition is reported to be valued between $10m and $20m.
PhonePe will continue to operate as an independent business unit following the acquisition, while the company’s team will join Flipkart.
