US-based company Amazon’s IT hiring declined 0.9% in August 2021 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.
The company’s overall hiring activity declined by 1.42% in August 2021 when compared with July 2021.

IT jobs claimed a 37.5% share in the company’s total hiring activity in August 2021, and recorded a 0.62% growth over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers tops Amazon IT hiring in August 2021
Out of the total IT job titles posted by Amazon, Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers emerged as the leading occupation, recording a share of 83.85% in August 2021, and a 0.91% drop over July 2021, while Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a share of 5.77% in August 2021, and registered a decline of 39.03%. Miscellaneous Computer Occupations held a share of 3.72% in August 2021, a 15.79% rise from July 2021.

North America emerged as the leading region in the global retail IT hiring activity in August 2021 with an 84.36% share, which marked a 2.46% drop over the previous month.
Asia-Pacific stood next with 9.54%, registering a 25.05% month-on-month decline. Europe was the third leading region with a 4.83% share and a 21.88% drop over July 2021.
In the fourth place was South & Central America with a share of 0.65% and a month-on-month decline of 40%. Middle East & Africa stood at the bottom of the table with a share of 0.63%, registering a 33.33% drop over the previous month.
The US commanded a leading presence in the region’s retail industry IT hiring activity with an 80.25% share in August 2021, a 2.92% decline over July 2021. India featured next with a 6.28% share, down 35.16% over the previous month. Canada recorded a 3.84% share, an increase of 7.43% compared with July 2021.
Junior Level jobs lead Amazon IT hiring activity in August 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 49.69%, down by 9.5% from July 2021. Entry Level positions with a 35.15% share, a decline of 3.13% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Mid Level job ads with a 15.16% share, down 5.99% over July 2021.
