Notably, COVID-19 was one of the most frequently referenced themes in Q1 2024, ranking highest in terms of mentions, ahead of quantum computing and space economy, according to GlobalData.
Of the top leading companies in the retail industry, CVS Health had the greatest increase in references for COVID-19 in Q1 2024, compared with the previous quarter. GlobalData identified 54 COVID-19-related sentences in the company's filings - 2% of all sentences - and a decrease of 72% in Q1 2024 compared with Q1 2023. Williams Sonoma’s mentions of COVID-19 dropped by 32% to 15 and Walgreens Boots Alliance’s by 94% to 13 and Performance Food Group’s by 9% to 10 and Tapestry’s by 76% to 10.
