The value marked a decrease of 95.7% over the previous month of $7.57bn and a drop of 91.8% when compared with the last 12-month average of $3.91bn.
Europe held a 9.98% share of the global consumer industry M&A deal value that totalled $3.23bn in January 2022. With an 8.71% share and deals worth $281.3m, Norway was the top country in Europe’s M&A deal value across consumer industry.
In terms of M&A deal activity, Europe recorded 38 deals during January 2022, marking a decrease of 34.48% over the previous month and a drop of 28.30% over the 12-month average. The UK recorded ten deals during the month.

The combined value of the top three consumer deals stood at $321.95m, against the overall value of $322.5m recorded for the month.
