Total consumer industry venture financing deals in Q3 2019 worth $7.76bn were announced globally, according to GlobalData’s deals database.

The value marked an increase of 31.9% over the previous quarter and a rise of 62.8% when compared with the last four-quarter average, which stood at $4.88bn.

Comparing deals value in different regions of the globe, North America held the top position, with total announced deals in the period worth $3.35bn. At the country level, the US topped the list in terms of deal value at $3.34bn.

In terms of volumes, North America emerged as the top region for consumer industry venture financing deals globally, followed by Asia-Pacific and then Europe.

The top country in terms of venture financing deals activity in Q3 2019 was the US with 231 deals, followed by China with 108 and India with 43.

In 2019, as of the end of Q3 2019, consumer venture financing deals worth $18.75bn were announced globally, marking an increase of 74.3% year on year.

2) The $300m venture financing of Chengjia Apartment by Boyu Capital Consultancy, CCB International (Holdings), Huazhu Hotels Group and Yunfeng Capital

3) 58.com and Tencent Holdings’ $300m venture financing of Zhuan Zhuan

4) The $275m venture financing of Bird Rides by Caisse de depot et placement du Quebec and Sequoia Capital Operations

5) SoftBank Group’s venture financing of Ola Electric Mobility for $250m.
