Total consumer industry venture financing deals worth $157.87m were announced in Europe in March 2021, led by $47m venture financing of Meatable, according to GlobalData’s deals database.

The value marked an increase of 95.6% over the previous month of $80.73m and a rise of 39.4% when compared with the last 12-month average of $113.28m.

Europe held an 8.44% share of the global consumer industry venture financing deal value that totalled $1.87bn in March 2021. With a 2.51% share and deals worth $47m, The Netherlands was the top country in Europe’s venture financing deal value across consumer industry.

In terms of venture financing deal activity, Europe recorded 31 deals during March 2021, marking an increase of 24.00% over the previous month and a rise of 19.23% over the 12-month average. The UK recorded 14 deals during the month.

The combined value of the top five consumer venture financing deals stood at $101.96m, against the overall value of $157.87m recorded for the month.
