The value marked a decrease of 88.4% over the previous month and a drop of 94.2% when compared with the last 12-month average of $641.76m.
The US held a 1.5% share of the global retail industry M&A deal value that totalled $2.43bn in June 2019.
In terms of deal activity, the US recorded 21 deals during June 2019, marking a decrease of 4.6% over the previous month and a drop of 8.7% over the 12-month average.

The top three retail industry M&A deals accounted for 100% of the overall value during June 2019.
The combined value of the top five retail industry M&A deals stood at $36.95m, against the overall value of $36.95m recorded for the month. The top announced retail industry M&A deal tracked by GlobalData in June 2019 was Transform Holdco’s $21.45m stake acquisition of Sears Hometown and Outlet Stores.
In second place was the $13m acquisition of MattnJeremy, Inc. by MedMen Enterprises and in third place was Route1’s $2.5m acquisition of Portable Computer Systems.
