The industry’s overall hiring increased by 4.03% in November 2021 when compared with October 2021.

Out of the retail industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 28.18% share in November 2021, recording a decrease of 2.69% over the last three-month average share.

Top five retail companies in India’s IT recruitment activity in November 2021
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average decline of 61.26% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of India’s retail industry during November 2021 over October 2021.
Amazon posted 165 IT jobs in November 2021 and registered a drop of 71.75% over the previous month, followed by Avenue Supermarts with 26 jobs and a flat growth. Walmart with 25 IT jobs and NIKE with 22 jobs, recorded a 19.35% decline and a 175% growth, respectively, while Target recorded an increase of 17.65% with 20 job postings during November 2021.
Junior Level job postings dominate in November 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 49.85%, down by 55.2% from October 2021. Entry Level positions with a 27.3% share, registered a decline of 62.75% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Mid Level job ads with a 22.85% share, down 35.29% over October 2021.
