IT jobs accounted for a 7.11% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in November 2021, registering a decrease of 0.41% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in November 2021
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in South & Central America with a share of 70.53% in November 2021, a 71.85% drop over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in next, claiming a share of 9.47% in November 2021, marking a 50% month-on-month decline. In the third place was Miscellaneous Computer Occupations with a share of 9.47% in November 2021, a 125% rise from October 2021.

Top five retail companies in South & Central America’s IT recruitment activity in November 2021
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average decline of 65.4% in the overall IT recruitment activity of South & Central America’s retail industry during November 2021 over previous month.
Amazon posted 46 IT jobs in November 2021 and registered a decline of 80.67% over the previous month, followed by Magazine Luiza with 25 jobs and a 212.5% growth. adidas with 7 IT jobs and Lojas Americanas with 7 jobs, recorded a 250% rise and a 36.36% drop, respectively, while SMU recorded a 50% increase with 6 job postings during November 2021.

Brazil commanded a leading presence in the region’s retail industry IT hiring activity with a 65.26% share in November 2021, a 15.07% decrease over October 2021. Chile featured next with a 13.68% share, up 44.44% over the previous month. Colombia recorded an 8.42% share, a drop of 68% compared with October 2021.
Junior Level job postings dominate in November 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 60%, down by 71.78% from October 2021. Mid Level positions with a 26.32% share, registered a decline of 45.65% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 13.68% share, down 23.53% over October 2021.
