US-based company Accutime Watch has signed a deal with software company TrueCommerce Datalliance for its vendor managed inventory (VMI) platform.
TrueCommerce is a global provider of VMI and collaborative replenishment software. Accutime designs, manufactures and markets branded fashion watches for all genders and ages.
The watchmaker will use the retail solution of TrueCommerce’s supply chain management platform to help optimise stock levels, with the solution implemented at more than 900 Accutime retail locations.
TrueCommerce’s retail solution is designed to ‘dynamically respond to consumer sales and recommend the right inventory levels’. The solution’s assortment planning feature enables in-stocking of right products at the right store, while its weekly updates item forecasts ensure precise re-order levels and product availability.
Accutime sales and marketing vice president Leon Shama said: “Consumers want options when selecting wristwear. They want to touch the watches, feel their weights and try them on.
“So, it’s critical that our products are available at the shelf as it is the best way we can enhance the shopping experience.

The retail solution will also benefit Accutime planners as they will be able to manage items across all stores at the same time.
Shama added: “The mass order preview feature is going to save us a lot of time. With one button, our planners are going to be able to launch orders to every retail location managed by VMI. Plus, order information like category IDs, product allotments, and total order values are automatically calculated. This could completely reshape how we manage our inventory.”
