Online commerce company Alibaba Group has signed a three-year strategic joint business partnership with US-based E. & J. Gallo Winery to introduce a new flagship store.
Under the agreement, the flagship store will be opened on Alibaba’s B2C platform Tmall in September.
This partnership extends the family-owned winery’s partnership with Tmall for its Carlo Rossi, Peter Vella and Gallo Family Vineyards brands.
Gallo Asia vice-president and general manager Bill McMorran said: “We are very excited to continue our on-going partnership and collaboration with Alibaba Group.
“As we have witnessed the rising sophistication of wine consumers in China, we are continuously looking for new ways to meet growing consumer demand.
“We are thrilled to offer more than 20 of our premium brands on Tmall, bringing high-quality, great-tasting wines to consumers in China.”
