Apple opens first store in Vienna, Austria

US-based technology company Apple has opened Apple Kärntner Straße, marking its first retail store in Vienna, Austria.

US-based technology company Apple has opened Apple Kärntner Straße, marking its first retail store in Vienna, Austria.

Located on the pedestrian shopping street between St. Stephen’s Cathedral and the Vienna State Opera, Apple Kärntner Straße has been designed to complement the heritage of the original building.

The company is reported to have hired 150 employees, who can collectively speak 44 languages in order to serve international customers visiting the store.

“Everyone is welcome to connect, be inspired to learn, and unlock their creativity.”

Apple retail senior vice-president Angela Ahrendts said: “We can’t wait to join the bustling city of Vienna, a European crossroads so rich in history and culture.

Apple Kärntner Straße brings the best of Apple together with our products, services and educational programs. Everyone is welcome to connect, be inspired to learn, and unlock their creativity.”

The store will feature the entire product range offered by Apple , including iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch or Mac.

The staff at the store is trained to customise the Apple product range according to the customer’s preferences.

Visitors can also enrol themselves and participate in free sessions, which focus on topics such as photography, coding and app development, music, art and design.

The programmes offered at the store will include Quick Start and How To sessions, Music Labs and Studio Hours, all led by in-store Apple Creatives.
