Omnichannel retailer Bed Bath and Beyond has partnered with technology firm DoorDash to introduce same-day delivery services in Canada.
Powered by DoorDash’s fulfilment platform, DoorDash Drive, the service will make online shopping easier from Bed Bath and Beyond and select buybuy BABY locations in Canada.
The retailer will offer same-day delivery service to 47 cities in nine provinces at a discounted flat rate of CAD4.99 ($4.06) for orders of more than CAD$39 ($31.7) until 20 May, and CAD$9.99 ($8.14) thereafter.
Customers residing in eligible postcodes can shop at bedbathandbeyond.ca and buybuybaby.ca and opt for same-day delivery at checkout.
Bed Bath and Beyond Canada store operation VP Greg Dyer said: “Omnichannel enables people to shop however they choose, is the future of retail and is more important than ever during these challenging times.
“We make it easier to feel at home, and we’re pleased to offer same-day delivery through DoorDash to provide our customers with another simple and cost-effective way to shop from the comfort of their own homes.
“So whether you need a last-minute gift, are missing that all-purpose pan for dinner or need diapers or other home essentials right away, we will be there to help.”
The omnichannel retailer launched same day delivery after successful introduction of buy-online-pickup-in-store (BOPIS) and contactless kerbside pickup services last year.
In addition to the new service, Bed Bath and Beyond has also extended the cut-off time for BOPIS and kerbside pickup orders from 3pm to 5pm on all days except Sundays.
Last month, the retailer revealed plans to launch at least eight new customer-inspired owned brands in the next year.
