US-based food retailer Brookshire Grocery (BGC) has partnered with grocery e-commerce platform provider Mercatus for its curbside service across 100 stores.
Through the new platform, BGC rolled out online ordering with curbside pickup service to stores in its Brookshire’s, Super 1 Foods and FRESH by Brookshire’s banners.
BGC chief strategy officer John D’Anna said: “At BGC, we are focused on creating and delivering exceptional experiences and value for our customers.
“This commitment is reflected in the newly enhanced online and in-store shopping experiences we’re proud to offer customers across all of our banners, and we are excited to have introduced CURBSIDE in the majority of our locations.”
Using the Mercatus platform, customers of BGC will now be able to order, pay and schedule pick-up times at select stores using banner-specific websites, as well as mobile apps.
The stores’ personal shoppers select the freshest products available to fill customers’ orders. They also text or call them with any questions about their selections and to notify them when their order is ready for pickup.

“BGC is on the forefront of changing the way people shop. As a valued partner of Brookshire’s, we’re excited to help deliver an exceptional online and in-store experience for BGC customers.”
In 2017, BGC piloted curbside pickup at its FRESH by Brookshire’s store in Tyler, Texas and later on expanded the service to other Super 1 Foods stores this year.
